"Almost uniquely in American life, this place inspires
devotion. Our culture is deeply rooted, and it will draw
back natives and woo new inhabitants who want to help
resurrect this extraordinary place."
Times Picayune Editorial August 27, 2006
There have been virtually thousands of hours of video
created documenting the horror that Katrina has vented on
America's Most Fascinating City, with almost as many hours
devoted to recounting what the government, local, state, and
national, should have but did not do to help.
This video is not about the destruction of New Orleans.
This video is about life and love and fun and hope and faith
back home... it's a story of people set on coming home...
hell or high water... folks who have come back home to
way down yonder... to New Orleans.
As Rhoda Faust, owner of the Maple Street Book Shop,
summarizes it..."There's just nowhere
else that I could be and still feel like myself."
